12oz bottle. Poured out a clear, golden amber color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of pine, roasted malt and some citrus fruit. Malty with toffee and a sharp, piney bitterness.

Nice Centennial hop character emphasizes floral notes and subsidiary hop oils. 2-row keeps it balanced.
Crisp and refreshing. Medium-bodied. Slightly oily in feel. Smooth, wet, approachable. Not astringent or otherwise problematic, but there is some minor alcohol warmth.
It's a drinkable imperial IPA with a nice hop flavour, but it does lack complexity and subtlety. Contemporary discerning drinkers probably expect a bit more depth and diversity of hop flavour in an imperial IPA, but this is a well-priced expression of the style that's definitely worth picking up once.

Poured from bottle into tulip good 2 finger light tan head, great retention and good lacing. Light amberish in the glass, slightly opaque, could be chill haze. Smells of overripe pineapple, citrus and caramel. Taste follows the nose, caramelized pineapple, grapefruit, and caramel malt. Has a dankness in the middle, somewhat earthy. Finish is a clean medium bitterness. This isn't really a bad drinking beer, but it is on the end of its life. This beer was brewed in Mid November and is just hitting the shelves in Houston on the first week of February. Not sure why the distributors are handling Shiner beer like that. I see it with all their one off releases. If shiner is going to start releasing a bunch of one off's then they need to get their distributors in line

Dark amber/orange color. Small white head with lots of lacing. Smell was mild for a dipa but has pine and citrus notes. Good balance of sweet malt, some crystal and plenty of hops. Medium mouthfeel for the style. Has some California traits but the Texas style is unmistakable. The 8% abv will sneak up on you because it’s very drinkable. One of the best from shiner.
