Pours cloudy gold colour with foamy head. Mild lacing. At first whiff, I detected a tropical fruit aroma but it changed into something I couldn't quite make out. Light with a grain/grape low hops taste. Medium to high carbonation and bitterness and watery mouthfeel. Smooth and decent enough. Can't quite make up my mind on this one. It's a decent tasting beer.

350 ml can with a June 2020 BB date stamp on the bottom in Kyoto.
Pours with a clear amber body with a decent white head.
Bold for style. Mildly bitter with a light but lingering hop aftertaste.

350ml Can from Liquor Market Kent Boy's, Kyoto (¥324):
This one was a very poor & disappointing beer that seemed weak & well past its best despite the fact that it was well within date going by the writing on the can & only being brewed two months prior. There was slightly more going on with the taste than there was with the nose but it was still one-dimensional & basic with some grassy flavours & hay further on. The name on the can was a bit of a misdirection as well, it's definitely more of a kölsch than it is pale ale; not one that I'd recommend.

I had Wa Akane from Kizakura last weekend and it was so good that I just had to drink this one too. This isn't a letdown either but it won't be as impressive as that pale ale was.
I was thinking how to sum it up well, but it was already there on the can:
"This is Kyoto's first craft beer. Clean and well balanced top fermented beer. Soft and smooth taste."
Nothing more, nothing less. Good for a light, refreshing drink.
