A : Dark brown, we cannot see through. The head is small stays on top all time. There is some lacing also.

S : We smell malts and a little caramel

T : Some bitterness, nothing particular on this side.

M : Low carbonation, medium bodied.

Bottle: Poured a deep slightly hazy brown color ale with an average foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of caramel and molasses with some lightly sweet malt notes. Taste is also dominated by some caramel and molasses notes with light sweet notes and some very light dry hops are also discernable. Full body for the style with some good carbonation. Very good session beer coming from a hit and miss brewery.

341 ml brown bottle.

A- Very dark, slightly opaque brown. A light shining through it shows red to brown to amber. Small head of little bubbles that settles quickly but really sticks to the glass.

S- Caramel, prunes, hops. Much more pleasant than taste.

T- Very strong burnt toast bitter finish. The front and middle are somewhat too watery. Some caramel and dried fruit malt flavours make it through. A bit of an alcohol feel atthe end. Definitely not bland, but not all that great. Aftertaste is unpleasant.

MF- Decent body. Strange little burning feeling to the back of the throat. Leaves the mouth feeling off. Something unbalanced to it that is related to the lingering and slightly unpleasant aftertaste.

D- Unbalanced flavour and off mouth feel don't lead to wanting to guzzle this and it's not interesting enough to sip. Pass.

341 mL brown bottle, undated.

Pours a dark, opaque brown with a generous tan head.

Big hop aroma, citric and resinous.

Nutty malts are quickly overpowered by grapefruit rind and pine. Hints of bitter chocolate come through near the end. Lingering bitterness, semi-sweet. Full-bodied with moderate carbonation.

Although not unpleasant, this is not what I think a brown ale should be like. Unbalanced, with too much emphasis on the hops.
