341 bottle poured into a pint glass.

A : Dark golden color, nice big head that stays on. No bubbles.

S : Alcohol, some hops, the small is attracting.

T : The taste is not strong at all. A little bit bitter, we can taste the alcohol afterwards.

M : Looks like a "flat" beer. No bubbles, watery.

D : Easy to drink since the watery feel but the alcohol doesn't help at all. Not sure if I would drink this one again.

Another beer from Au Maître Brasseur.

Beer is golden yellow and slightly veiled. Nice white head. Big bubbles and good amount of carbonation. The aroma is fruity (apples and pears). Lots of carbonation in the mouth... maybe too much. On the taste it is fruity as hell! too much fruits! Warmth in the mouth due to the alcohol. Sugar too on the taste. Drinkability is not great, maybe average... I would say this is more a tripel than a Belgian Strong Pale Ale... but who knows what they wanted to do here...

Pours a cloudy, dull, dark-yellow. An initial one-finger head dissipates to a thin layer of white foam and then to a faint rim around the glass. No lacing.

Smells like doughy yeast, citrusy hops, honey, caramel and faint Belgian spices. Could use more presence but smells pretty good as is.

This is my second Quebec Belgian in a row that's too sweet, though this one is not quite as bad as the last (Francoise Bourgeois). Cloying sugary light malt dominates anything else, with some moderately bitter hops leaving a dry finish. Some very faint background spiciness, but it's almost not worth mentioning. This is just too sweet to enjoy. "Devil's Nectar" is an appropriate name for this; nectar being the key word. Like those "fruit beverages" which are half sugar half juice. The 9% feels about right; presenting itself on the way down.

Medium-light body; medium carbonation. Pretty average feel.

Looks okay, smells nice, tastes pretty bad. This beer is not really drinkable and not worth checking out. The label says both 7.5% and 9%, I've never seen this on a label before. I doubt this is 7.5% though, I think they just forgot to update the text after upping the ABV. It feels fully like a 9%. I would only drink this if it were free, there was nothing else around and I was looking to get drunk. At 9%, at least it's good for something.

A - Pours a light gold colour with little head. Lots of carbonation but leaves no lacing.
S - Smells quite yeasty and fruity with the slightest burn of alcohol.
T - Mostly tastes of alcohol and some light fruit. Some strong sour yeast tastes and the bite of cloves. There is some raw citrus flavour with tastes like unripe lime.
M - Alcoholic burn and yet syrupy and coating.
D - Hard to finish even one.

Bottle: Poured a clear golden bright yellow color ale with a small foamy head with limited retention and no lacing. Aroma of sugar with some malt coming through. Taste is a mix between some cloying sweetness with some light malt. Watery body with some low carbonation. Overall, this was way too sweet or cloying to be really interesting.
