This one defies the style guidelines... it's blond & a little yeastie like a Belgian.

A: Very light blond with a slight yeast haze, big head, great retention & lacing.

S: Earthy-mineral that's initially a little sulfury; hops are floral/soapy with a little citrus rind; slight tropical fruit.

T: Earthy-mineral & rind, slightly yeastie, pleasantly balanced bitterness and slightly fruity.

M: Well-attenuated, light to moderate body has a dry finish. Carbonation is a little high.

D: An easy drinker.

I'm guessing whoever listed this as an English pale ale didn't see "Bière blond" on the label or bother to taste it first?

Pours a light, cloudy straw colour with a big bubbly head.

Smells floral and, perhaps oddly, much more like a cider than a beer. One of the most unusual smelling beers I have ever tried. It's all yeasty ripe apple.

I guess with "houblon" (French for hops) in the name and a retarded looking hops cone wearing sunglasses and smiling on the label I was expecting more of a hop-forward beer. But it's mostly fruity, yeasty and cider-like, with a light, bready malt and the hops are floral and grassy.

Mouthfeel is medium and dry. Overall it's just an okay beer.

Pours a blonde yellow, huge head, awesome lacing, quite carbonated. Faint aroma of french rolls and citrus (lemon and grapefruit) also a hefe-like yeast aroma. Flavor is quite citrusy with a almost lemon like tartness to it. Some malt. A bit astringent. More of a english blonde ale like "Harvestoun bitter and twisted" than a English Pale Ale.

Bottle: Poured a light golden color ale with a medium size foamy head with average retention and minimal lacing. Aroma consists of lightly sweet malt with some light floral hops also discernable. Taste is also a mix between some lightly floral notes with some lightly sweet aroma. No discernable flaws as can be found in many beers from this brewer but really bland and not something that I would look for again.
