2008 Vintage

Small hiss when pulling out the plastic cork - the same kind of cork I use for Hombrewing.

A- Oh boy, not a pretty sight. Tried to force some head out of it by roughing the pour... but nothing really, just a little fizz. Reddish brown looks like the concoctions I used to make as a kid... mixing all the juices and coke in the fridge into a glass.

S- Spicy. Lots of clove, both from the actual spice and from yeast. Sour apple and cranberry juice. Cinnamon. First whiff was very bad but I'm getting used to it and it's starting to smell good. But I'm kind of worried it might be infected.

T- Here goes... kind of worried. Ah well, it's ok. Seems to have some allspice. Lots of spice taste but not very hot. Maybe the most spice taste I've had in a beer which is fun. Clove bitterness. Quite sweet. Prune and pear juice.

M- Very low carbonation and this is what kills this beer. Body is as boring as my messed up homebrews before bottling. Not dry.

D- Interesting taste. Pitiful mouthfeel. I hate wasting so I'm drinking it but I would gladly stop at half the (750ml) bottle.

Yeah well this was supposed to be very good (I was told). Feels like a nice homebrew effort. I'm thinking it might've been a bad seal in the plastic cork because the lack of carbonation really ruined this.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy dirty beige color wheat ale with an average size head with minimal retention and no lacing. Aroma of candy and strong sweet grainy malt. Taste is a weird mix between some cloying candy ester with loads of grainy sweet malt. Way too cloying to be rally enjoyable. Body is really full with limited filtration and minimal carbonation with no apparent alcohol. Could have been really interesting but is just really over the top and too cloying at the end of the day.

It's written it's a witbier on the bottle but it definitively doesn't taste like one.

A: No head at all. Hazy light brown/orange look. Really not good looking...

S: Lots of cinnamon, some cloves, some honey. Really what you're used to with a winter warmer.

T: Ahh, great here too. Nice cinnamon and cloves dominant. Lots of honey sweetness and tart greatness. No aftertaste and no hops bitterness. A really smooth tasting beer.

M: Great yet again. Nice mid carbonation that gives some life to the brew. The beer is smooth and creamy and very pleasant in the mouth.

D: Extremely easy to drink brew.

Really impressed by this one since I haven't something that nice coming from the "Au maitre brasseur" in a long time. The best winter warmer I've tasted!
