Tasted on May 18, 2009.
Pours like a dark amber color. Can't see through the beer. Color is almost brown. The head is very cloudy with small bubbles. The foam is very sticky. Smell is more malts with some hops. Lightly roasted malts. Taste is similar to smell. However, I get some small hints of chocolate. I get some earthy and mineral hops in the taste. Easy to drink and the beer doesn't show it's 6.5% ABV until probably when it is too late. I like this beer. Nothing exceptional but a good session beer IMO.

"Lager Rousse"... apparently one of the 3 or 4 styles in Quebec.
The names implies a doppelbock, but it seems to be more of a Marzen (a bigger one with a touch of smoked malt). It reminds me of the Amsterdam Octoberfest (which is a lightly smoked marzen), but unfortunatley not as good.
A: Deep mahogany with a bubbly, light tan head, some retention, slight lacing.
S: Initial hit of sulfury mineral, soapy, floral, smoky, light spicing, burnt caramel, hints of dark fruits & bread.
T: Spicy smokyness, burnt caramel, plenty of nut, peppery spicing, good bitterness, slight astringency.
M: Moderate body has a little sticky-sweetness; overcarbonated.
D: It's drinkable, but the residual sweetness, high carbonation and slight astringency put a damper on things.
