One of the best Ambers I have had. Very smooth clean finish...not too bitter. Pretty much what you would want in an Amber Lager. Beautiful deep maroon in color. Nice head. Definitely get your dollar's worth. I would have to rank the Alt Platz brewery as one of the best brewers in the Hampton Roads area.

Presentation: 2 liter growler (resealable cap) poured into a pint glass.
Appearance: Poured a deep reddish brown color. The head formed about 1 finger thick of large bubbles and faded quickly into a thin film on top of the beer along with some lacing.
Aroma: Kind of faint, some caramel malts but not a lot.
Taste: Much better. Caramel malty flavors hit the palate almost immediately with ust a hint of some hoppy bitterness thrown in there as well in the middle. The finish is a mixture of bitter hops and caramel malts that lingers nicely.
Mouthfeel: A little watery but still good. The carbonation is in good balance as well.
Overall: Very drinkable, definitely worth a try if you're a fan of the style. It would make an excellent partner with a pizza.
