Presentation: Two liter growler, resealable cap, poured into a pint glass.
Appearance: Pours a crystal clear dep golden yellow color, small carbonation bubbles rising inside. The head formed about 1 finger thick and faded slowly into some lacing.
Aroma: Hoppy aroma, not strong and foral like an IPA, more muted but still quite pleasant, along with a faint malty background.
Taste: Fairly uniform throughout, a slightly bitter hoppy taste in front balanced out by a faint malty background. The finish is hoppy and slightly bitter.
Mouthfeel: Smooth, medium bodied, almost creamy. The carbonation balances nicely.
Overall: (Two notes: It's actually a golden ale, but the only option that fit was an American Pale Ale. Also, I'm kind of guessing on the ABV. I think that's what I was told the other night when I was visiting and had it on tap, but I could be wrong.) Quite often when a brewpub makes this beer they make it a year round offering, low in alcohol and flavor, so as to draw in some numbers. This, I'm happy to say, is an exception to that rule. Highly recommended.
