I had this beer in an imperial nonic glass at the Whistler taproom in YVR airport.
Appearance: medium-light golden hue with a moderate haze and a finger of frothy ivory foam atop.
Smell: somewhat sweet malt with a pronounced citrus peel aroma. Not too bad.
Taste: similar to the aroma, with a sweetish malt, orange and grapefruit peel hop flavors, and a moderate bitterness.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: a pretty decent pale ale. Nothing spectacular, but serviceable.

Poured from a 473ml can.
Appearance - Pours a hazy amber with three fingers of frothy white head.
Smell - mild citrus, earthy, leafy, and herbal hops, lemon, hint of citrus and grapefruit peel, bready malts, caramel, and earthy yeast.
Taste - very mild citrus, earthy, leafy, and herbal hops upfront. The lemon, hint of citrus and grapefruit peel are there but very slightly. The bready malts, caramel, and earthy yeast round out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes crisp and dry with the malts and mild hops lingering.
Overall - An APA that had good intentions from the start but just fell apart in the aroma and taste. This one needs some more oomph from the hops and more traditional elements of the APA style to make it a stand out. Like the fact that proceeds go to a notable cause though.

Hazy amber color. Short head but it quickly dropped down to a skiff across the top with some larger bubbles mixed in. Left some streaky lacing. Too hazy to see the carbonation level.
Primary scent of mildly floral hops with some fresh green herbs and just a touch of barnyard. Swirling the glass kicked up a bit more barnyard and more bitter aspect of hops.
Gentle, medium bitter hops. Some cereal malt. A tiny bit of tropical fruit I couldn't identify. Aftertaste tends towards a fragrant, mildly bitter tea.
Quickly turns into a fine bubbled, soft foam. Medium body.
I have had a series of very unsatisfying lagers before this, so I may have overrated this ale from relief. This is a good example of a pale ale. It would have been slightly better with a more pronounced malt flavor.
Uses the same name and logo as the mountain biking web site and app. They donate $1 from each 4x500 ml pack to local trail associations.
