Rather well crafted growler serving. A hefty but finely balanced pumpkin ale... Nicely drinkable fresh.
Presentation: 16 Oz. home pour from a growler... Growlers Chalkboard notes A.B.V 6.6%. Served in a tulip glass.
A - Rather hazy-unfiltered medium to deep amber orange pour with a fairly nice head, average retention and some good lacing.
S - Pumpkin spices, softly aromatic early on and announcing its bite towards the end. All spice, cinnamon, nutmeg and the like take control throughout.
T - Nicely accomplished pumpkin ale range. Spices are are present throughout but not overwhelmingly, letting the pumpkin and grain shine nicely, until the end when a biting bitter pumpkin spice note takes the closing hand. Not too heavy handed but surely there.
M - Medium body, some lingering texture, not a bad feel with soft but good carbonation for the style.
D - Rather drinkable and quaffable early on. Might feel a bit heavy handed towards the end, in particular with that persistent bite.
Notes: A nice growler choice. Good seasonal pumpkin ale, feeling rather fresh and recommendable.

Served in a mug at Growlers in Gaithersburg, MD. Beer is orange to amber in color, white head, lots of lacing on the glass. Carbonation is moderate and steady and there is a slight haze to the beer (as probably assumed from the name of the beer).
The aroma is pretty typical for a pumpkin ale, cloves, nutmeg and a little bit of cinnamon. There is some sweetness detected but no hop aroma to speak of at all.
The pumpkin bitterness is there as well as the pumpkin pie spices. The beer is a little solventy, but I may be misinterpreting the mixture of spices to be an organic solvent, they are very strong. Beer does finish nicely, not leaving behind any aftertaste or flavors. Mouthfeel / body is medium and drinkability is moderate. This was an OK beer but probably not a repeat for me. This is how the brew pub described the beer,
"Strong ale with a copper color and a heavy malt flavor, seasoned with a unique blend of seasonal spices and a whole bunch of pumpkin!"
I got the spices and the pumpkin, not the malt so much. A good effort.
