I checked the other descriptions for the other two kolsch ales made by this brewery and this is clearly a different beer so I guess they are trying to figure out the Kolsch, well rest assured you figured it out. This was a good beer. Let me start with the brewer's description of the beer,
"This style exhibits some of the more desirable features of both ales and lagers. Our Kolsch is pale gold with light body and a slightly dry palate. Medium hop bitterness and light hop aroma"
Beer is clear and yellow. Small (thin) white head forms, carbonation is a little low for my tastes but it is steady. Some lacing is left on the glass (not much at all).
The aroma is subtle, I did not get a lot of hops, mostly some wheat and malt. Not much of an aroma but I don't expect much aroma from a Kolsch, just for it to be clean.
This beer is smooth, as it should be, no aftertaste, no bitterness that I could detect. The flavor is primarily malt and wetness. Very good to style. Drinkability is really high but the mouthfeel is not style consistent in my opinion. This beer is too full bodied. Kolsches are generally light, thin bodied beers that are meant to quench and refresh. This was full bodied and therefore hurts the mouthfeel.
