First brewed in 2015 to celebrate Sprecher's 30th anniversary, and in conjunction with local Milwaukee radio station WKLH, Hometown Brew is a European-style pale lager crafter to be simple but tasty, satisfying, and quenching.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Pours orange yellow with a fluffy white head. Smells of cereal grain, pretty plain. Tastes of cereal grain, nothing really stands out, but more flavorful than most lagers. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, an average beer.

12 oz bottle. Pours clear gold amber with a big fluffy off white head that retains well and leaves little lacing.
The aroma is sweet corny malts with a little fruit and rye.
The flavor is sweet vegetal bready malts with a little candied fruit and a grassy hop finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth carbonation.
Overall, a muddled lager.

European-style pale lager crafted to be simple, tasty and quenching. Bright golden-hue with light fading head and “old school Cluster + Styrian hops” with hints of lemon and mild toasty hops... bright and zingy with 6% ABV.

I'm not really sure which style to rate to, because it is classified as a German pils, but the description says euro pale lager. It is definitely not a pilsner, so I guess we will go with the euro pale.
Look is a crystal clear deep golden color with a one finger, frothy white head that disappears quickly to a microfilm layer across the top. There are a few spots of lacing left on the glass.
Smell is sweet caramel, bread crust and toffee along with a touch of grass and citrus.
Taste is the same. Very malt forward with a touch of grassy hops on the finish.
Feel is medium and smooth, but definitely lacking carbonation. Sweetness clings to the palate after the sip is finished.
Overall this beer just doesn't do it for me. I like my lagers crisp, easy drinking and hop forward to balanced, but this is malt heavy and borderline cloying.

I hesitated to make this entry, only because the Sprecher offering appears to be named Hometown Brew and because, while using Pilsen malt, it is characterized as a Pale Lager by the producer.
I decanted it from a 12 oz (355 ml) bottle into a conical pint glass; if I am reading the coding correctly, it is best by 2/31/18.
A: Pours a crystal clear, dark golden to light amber color with a luxurious, one inch, foamy off white head, with excellent retention and decent rings of lacing.
S: Aromas of caramel, toasted malt, and fresh straw predominate with a zingy lemon citrus note.
T: Any fruitiness is subsumed under the caramel, malt, and moderate bitterness. Drinks very cleanly.
M: Light bodied with solid effervescence.
O: I thought this belonged more in the, say, Vienna Lager class, but found it was very easily drinkable and enjoyable. Would not hesitate to try it in any number of food parings. More importantly, could easily see myself sitting on the beach with a wedge of lime in one. Worth a go.
