Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Pours pitch black with a tiny off white head. Smells of chocolate malt, not too strong but still inviting. Beer tastes of chocolate and coffee malt, nice and dry. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a good beer.

L - Very dark brown. Medium-tall light brown head. Good persistence.

S - Dark malts. Coffee and sweet cocoa.

T - Dark malts. Sweet; more coffee than chocolate; a little char.

F - Medium.

O - A pretty decent Irish stout on the sweet side.

From the 12 oz bottle in a snifter. This solid little stout pours a deep brownish black
with a nice head of khaki light brown foam that subsides to a thick ring, thin layer,
and shows some sudsy lacing. Nose of coffee, bittersweet cocoa, and light char. Flavors
exceed the nose with presentation shows rich coffee and dark cocoa mingling with light notes of
char and roast that are lightly touched with an herbal hop and subtle cola notes. Nice mouth
feel; medium body, lightly creamy, medium light carbonation, and a rich malt driven finish that
ends lightly dry.

overall, a solid brew from one of my favorite American breweries.

Cheers
