Real light colored brown, I was expecting this to be a light lager, yellow in color, I got something else, thin head on it, off white. Aroma was that tea, toffee, woody chestnuts roasting on an open fire kind of vibe.

Taste was smooth in terms of bitterness/hopping, but there was just way too much alcohol in the mouthfeel, especially for a session ale.

Neat idea, poor execution.

Pours out a light brown color, minimal head, lacing. I thought I was getting a light beer at the time, turned out to be what I would describe a session brown. Took a blase toffee and nuts aroma out of this one.

Taste was again, more toffee, no hopping, weird metallic, almost fusel alcohol aftertaste to it. Thin mouthfeel aside from that. One of my least favorite Sprecher beers of all time. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what they were trying to do with this one. Didn't really deliver anything of note, everything was below average in every category based on my notes.

Appearance: Appallingly weak head with soda-like carbonation; large, plentiful, fast-moving bubbles in a clear, attractively rust-orange body.

Smell: Rather nice, sweet, English nose - caramel, peanut brittle, and butterscotch with a backdrop of leafy hops. Hints of stone fruits, oatmeal, and toasted bagels round out the malts.

Taste: Mild and tasty - quite nutty and bready, though it is slightly metallic at times with a mineral-tinged dryness. Nicely bittered with resinous hops and quite dry.

Mouthfeel: Very thin and perhaps a touch too dry; carbonation is too frothy, but not as fizzy as expected.

Drinkability: This is a fine, low-alcohol beer that doesn't quite rival English originals, but it is really nice with peanut butter and jelly.
