Ninkasi is always hoppy in flavor and this one is no exception, except it is smoother without the bitterness. It has a little bite but quite mild. It pours a hazy orange with a small head and has a citrus/tropical aroma. Rated 5-8-2022

Pours a pale gold color with a thin head. Smells sweet and fruity. Flavor is also fruit forward, oranges and Mellon's. Medium body with a mid bitter finish.

maybe just slightly heavy, a little maltier than it needs to be in body color and body, but not by much, and its still drier, and most importantly, the hop profile is striking, memorable even, and i was stoked on this one last night even if it was just a tad filling. these guys pretty much always deliver with the hoppy stuff. a little copper tint on the pour, rising airy white head though with pretty lacing and visible carbonation. nose here is juicy citrus, grapefruit and orange, with light herbal bitterness and mild dry nutty malt, simple but appealing and quite fresh. its flavor that pops for me, even ahead of the nose, its pure grapefruit, like actual pink grapefruit sliced open and eaten with a spoon, id love to know which hops they use to get here, grapefruit is so often a suggestion or a hint, here its a hammer to the head, no mistake about it, true real grapefruit, almost like there is fruit added, it easily cuts through the malt, and its so fresh and vibrant, even while the rest of the beer tries to be heavy, its drier than it looks like it could be, and the hops just pop in here, good bitterness for a hazy too, a pretty clean ferment, nice bubbles, and overall pretty compelling, the dead center of each sip is where its at, so juicy and even slight tangy for a flash, like a real grapefruit. fleshy and authentic. maybe could drink all three of them from the mixed pack in one sitting, but no denying this is tasty and different enough to stand out. if its all simcoe or something well known like that, id love to know more about process and timing, impressive!

Pretty boring hazy considering the hefty price tag. It's rather generic and flat...rather disappointing coming from a brewery like this. It's easy to drink at 6.9%...but that's the only plus in my honest opinion. Would not recommend. Not a good hazy. The packaging states "tropical and citrus" .... There is like 1% tropical backlash/after taste. But that's it.

Taste
80% bitter orange peel
10% bitter orange/lemon juice
10% hops

Not worth the $11+/6pk

12oz can from Albertsons. Hazy orange golden body, thin white head. Aroma is light orange, citrus. Taste continues with faint citrus, orange peel. Really drinkable.

12oz can from the recent variety 12-pack, poured into a stemless wine glass. Definitely pours full-on hazy, nearly golden in color with a finger of off-white head. Generically fruity and juicy overall, with notes of grapefruit, pine, and other fruit...prickly dryness and light bitterness blend with a nice malty sweetness. Overall this isn't a miss, it just isn't really special in a world with a million NE IPA's.
