It pours a darkish amber/orange color with a small head that stays a while. The aroma is citrus & tropical fruit and sweetness. Taste is some hop bitterness, wet tobacco and mild malt. Typical Ninkasi highly hopped beer, though tastes hoppier than IBUs show. If you like a hoppy beer this is a good one. BOD hard to read looks like November 2024. Rated 2-1-2025. 50 IBUs

12oz can dated ??/05/22. Served in a stemless glass. Beer is mid-coppery amber and forms loads of bubbly head. Aroma is vaguely sweet and floral -- just ok. Taste has a nice mix of alpha bitterness with flavorful pineapple and tropical fruit. Maybe it's just not that fresh but the flavors here just aren't as vibrant as I'd expect from the label on the can which displays "Tropical IPA" so prominently. But it is extremely drinkable and there's nothing unpleasant about it.

six pack of 12 oz cans from Safeway in West Salem OR.
Packaged 11/28/2022.
Pours a darker golden colour, it is a clear IPA. Small yet persistent frothy off-white head.
Aroma is quite malty for style, but with underlaying hints of tropical hops and also a bit of pine.
Taste is malty. Caramel type malts. Then a hoppy bitterness that takes over halfway through the mouthful. Very little of the tropical flavours promised. Maybe a bit of peach. Has more old-style pine aspects to be honest.
Mouthfeel is happily quite well carbonated and brisk.
Noy great but not at all bad.
Average...kinda dull.
I think Ninkasi have lost their way with IPAs.

12oz can from Albertsons, Dark golden pour, small foamy head recedes. Malty aroma with light tropical fruit notes. Taste icontinues with bready malts and any tropical notes are very subdued, almost an afterthought. Bitterness is slight as well, kind of dreis out at the finish. Not at all what I was expecting.

brand new one from these guys, cool can, nice and fresh, modern and juicy, this is the kind of ipa that just drips with tropical fruitiness that everyone seems to be brewing right now, its quite well done, and fruity enough that it almost seems like it has so have some actual fruit in it, which i dont believe it does. nice to see a clearer one, rusty orange toned with good carbonation. the nose here is sweet to me, both malty sweet and fruity sweet, left a little more meat on the bone in terms of residual sugar, but i think it plays to the tropical fruit character of the hops they are obviously trying to accentuate. i do get all the fruity hops in the taste, from pineapple to mango to generic almost candied tropical punch vibes, all quite appealing and fresh, this tastes brand new, but its not totally amazing either, i want a little more bitterness in the finish, i think they could drop a little grain out too, its not as light and summery as the smells and flavors are, its more sturdy than it needs to be, sometimes i feel like ninkasi cant help themselves with that, like thats what they always do with their hoppy beer. the lingering sweetness is a little much too, not way off, i could still drink a few of these, but it could be more of a ripper than it is by drying out some. not totally dialed in for me, but definitely a cool hop profile on this and more than anything its great to see new beer from these guys. this is on trend for not being hazy, should go bonkers for them this summer...
