pours a clear golden straw hue with a frothy finger-and-a-half off-white head that slowly fades leaving behind froth on the surface and impressive sheets of lacing down the glass. the bottom of the pour yields a bit of nice looking haze.
aroma is bready and yeasty. subtle banana. spicy herbal hops and yeasty wheat bread dominate the aroma. not overpowering, but smells great.
taste is in line with a german hef. light bread and spicy herbal hops. a touch of yeast, even a touch of cinnamon and clove. spicy and green hops.
mouth is amply carbonated with a pleasant crispness. clean. crisp. great for the flavors.
I could drink a few of these, no problem. I wish I had more... and this bottle went way too quickly. Nothing earth shattering, but this is one of the best, cleanest, well done german hefeweizens I've had stateside in a while. Definitely worth seeking out!
