16oz glass at the brewpub.
This beer appears a very cloudy, medium golden apricot colour, with the standard thin cap of settling foamy off-white head, which leaves some streaky, reaching for salvation lace around the glass as it slowly seeps away.
It smells of semi-sweet, sugary pale wheat malt, a twinge of white pepper and coriander/clove, earthy yeast, faint citrus rind, and some ethereal leafy weedy hops. The taste is still rather sugary in its plainly rendered cereal wheatiness, with both the table pepper spice and out of place clove thing quickly shying away, the yeasty astringency holding fast, the benign citrus doing little for the cause, and the weak supportive leafy and weedy hops being what they are.
The carbonation is adequate in its palate-assuring frothiness, the body a solid medium weight, and mostly smooth, the standard Yankee wheat beer ugliness doing well to mask itself, I'd say. It finishes quote off-dry, the grainy wheatiness ruling the day.
Not a bad wheat brew, from a town a bit far removed from the golden wheat fields of America proper, which is the beauty of brewing throughout these lower 48 states. It doesn't matter where you are, you can procure just the right stuff to make your, um, stuff.

On draught at the brewpub, served in a shaker pint, Wheat Whale Ale is a very lightly hazed gold with a whitish head that leaves scattered, foamy lace.
Smell is huge rotten eggs, holy sulfur batman!
Taste is better, the first sip had some of the orange juice from the silly garnish. Further exploration revealed no esters, so this not a hefe, just an american pale wheat ale, simple and bland, a touch sweet, but clean.
Mouthfeel is dryish, medium body.
Drinkability is pretty good, a bland little inoffensive beer with a enough sweetness to warrant another sip, without overbearing.

Taste is better, the first sip had some of the orange juice from the silly garnish. Further exploration revealed no esters, so this not a hefe, just an american pale wheat ale, simple and bland, a touch sweet, but clean.
Mouthfeel is dryish, medium body.
Drinkability is pretty good, a bland little inoffensive beer with a enough sweetness to warrant another sip, without overbearing.

Pours straw cloudy yellow with minimal head which dissipated immediately. Smells wheaty, slightly yeasty with some addition of citrus. Pretty normal hefe stuff. Taste - really yeasty, slightly bitter, some citrusy aftertaste. It feels a little flat to me, I am allmost to blame the growler for it. To summarize - decent hefe, but nothing special. Wouldn't bring the growler of this back again.

I had this brew over lunch. Served in a pint glass.

The taste is good. A nice malty backbone and a citrus finish.

This is a very drinkabkle beer. Not a great hefe however. It reminds me of the Henry Wienhard Hefeweizen.
