surprised they could call it boom sauce with lord hobo but i guess i dont know which came first, and these guys remain pretty small. anyway, this is cool beer, although i caught it pretty old, it still has some redeeming qualities even well past its likely prime. its got a little color to it, brass to bronze with a great almost can conditioned looking head on it, almost two inches high, thick and lasting, and just off pure white. its not quite clear but close, and it has a lot of carbonation. the aroma and flavor are definitely a little oxidized, but i like the malt base, simple but not one dimensional, some body but dry, just a touch of honey sort of sweetness in the center of this, which sets the hops up well, faded as they must be, pine and weed notes in the nose, more grapefruit and orange peel in the flavor, pleasantly bitter, although that could have ramped up over time. the yeast is minimal, there are some oils that linger on the tongue, but the carbonation pushes through and it ends up clean, some neat minerals there later on too. a shame to lose a crowler of this in the beer fridge for so long, but given the circumstances its still kind of impressed. i bet this was money when it was brand new, i cant be too harsh here, hopefully get the chance to drink it in its full glory sometime...
