On draught at the brewpub, served in a shaker pint, Mack's Dark Long Day dark brown with an off-white head that leaves scattered, foamy lace.
Smell is pretty hoppy, a bit of chocolate maltiness. Some chalkiness as well.
Taste is assertively hopped, resiny pine with a firm bitterness and bright finish. Not getting a ton from the malt base, some malted milk lingers on the finish.
Mouthfeel is dry, medium body.
Drinkability is pretty good, a nice CDA in my taste for the style, using more pine the citrus hops, which I think conflict with the dark malts. Another well executed beer from this impressive little pub.
