From 03/27/11 notes. Had at a local DC tasting.
a - Pours a medium brown color with an inch of white head and moderate carbonation evident.
s - Smells of bready malts, alcohol, roasted malts. Pretty average and bland, and doesn't remind me too much of a strong ale.
t - tastes of bready malts, grain, alcohol, and caramel malts. Again, kind of average.
m - Medium body and moderate carbonation.
o - A decent beer, though maybe not a strong ale. Some definite alcohol in the nose and taste mixing with lots of malts, especially bready ones. Wouldn't seek out again.

Bottle consumed at a recent DC area tasting. Served in a SAVOR snifter.
Pours a light brown color with a thin off white head and a bit of a head. The nose brings forward some light bread and a touch of light caramel. Really not too much there, especially for what the bottle dubbed as a strong ale. THe flavor has a bit of bread as well plus some very mild floral and pine hops. More caramel and bread. Light touch of alcohol. Medium body with a bit of booze. Not bad, but pretty boring.
