This is one odd beer to pour, it is thick like syrup. There are lots of larger and smaller bits of yeasts (it is bottle conditioned) floats in the beer like ice crystals. The colour is medium brown; the liquid somewhat cloudy. The head is finger thick, compact and beige.
The smell is very malty with some generous mild bitterness. I found some dry yeast and maybe a hint of smoke and boiled vegetables.
The strong taste is malty with some roasted notes of vegetables, toasted bread, hay and some bitterness. The aftertaste is malty with some mild bitterness and some salt/gravy/bullion flavours. You guessed it; this is a full bodied beer.
The liquid is very, very heavy; it is like drinking gravy. The carbonation is quite mild with some medium sized bubbles.
The heavy liquid made this beer a little hard to drink. It makes me wonder if it is supposed to be this way?
