Thanks to bosse for this extra. This is the 2010 vintage. Served in a taster pint glass.

A - Pours with a thin tan foam that settles to a thin ring, leaving behind a few spots of lace. The body is a dark brown with ruby hints of transparency.

S - Cloves, cardamom, Christmas spices, some rum cake, and candi sugar malt character. Does the recipe change every year? This doesn't seem to make the description on the listing here.

T - Taste is a little more heavy in the Christmas cake, but finishes with cloves, cardamom, and vague spruce/floral hop character in the finish.

M - Medium body, syrupy, low carbonation, chewy and sticky. Little obvious alcohol.

D - This was a pretty average spiced Winter Warmer. Probably won't bother with it again, as I much prefer the Jämtlands product.

A: Pours dark brown with reddish hints. The tan head is medium large and thick. Dissipation leaves only little lacings.

S: Lots of fruits, cherries and citrus. Sour/acidic. Moderate malt. Spices, amongst others; cinnamon.

T: Sour and sweet. Some malt, light roasted. Cherries and lots of spieces. Dark bread.

M: Body is medium and carbonation is mild. Aftertaste is sour.

D: Spicy. Will work great with the fat and salty X-mas food (at least as we eat it in Sweden).

The beer is dark brown, clear with hints of orange. A small quickly receding head, some lacing.

The smell is weakly malty, slightly sour and earthy. A bit metallic, but mainly a mix of Christmas spices.

Upfront sweet, dark sweet spicy bread ("vörtbröd"), brown sugar, raisins and spices. A bitter, almost raw, finish, grape-fruit seeds.

Medium low carbonation, small soft bubbles, medium body, a coarse dry finish.

This was the 2010 edition, which I understand is the same beer as previous years. A bit uneven and raw, could be good to save a year.

Bottle shared with friends at the yearly christmasbeertasting.

A: Deep ruby brown with a small head.

S: Spices, Caramel, Butterscotch, Coffee.

T: Roasted malts, Spices, Floral hops, Dark bread.

M: Body is quite thin but plenty of carbonation. Easy drink.

This beer could have used a little beefing up. Esp the body felt a bit thin. Still, a worthwhile effort and certainly drinkable.

Another christmas beer from a fairly new swedish micro brewery.

Smell: ah, well, this is certainly a christmas brew, lots of spices and malt, cinnamon, cardamom, clove and some other stuff that I cant nail down; roasted dark malty notes. Nice smell.

Taste: bready and sweet malt with burnt notes, lots of spices, especially cinnamon and clove, and some dark chocolate notes. Some other stuff to that I dont know how to describe.

Overall: really nice spicy beer, perhaps all the spices were a bit too much after a while, but this beer is very enjoyable nonetheless.

Winter warmer? Spiced old ale? According to the BJCP guidelines, this is most probably a "Christmas/Winter Specialty Spiced Beer". I'll go for winter warmer.

The liquid is black; the two finger head is brown. Lots of lacing.

The smell is spicy and sweet with some sharp bitter flavours and smoked malts. Sour hints of chloride. A bit artificial and chemical.

The taste is dry, smoked with some bitterness and lots of spices (cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and bitter oranges). The body is thin. There are phenolic flavours of paint and tar. Lots of clean bitterness. The aftertaste is spicy and bitter with hints of butter, oranges and lightly roasted malt.

The carbonation is mild, the liquid thin.

I don't know... This is an odd beer. I am not really sure if it is supposed to taste this way. I have had some other brews from Sigtuna, and they tend to have odd chemical flavours and/or infections.
