Served in a Spaten seidel..forgot to take the temp, but it was straight from the fridge anyway.

A: Pitch black liquid with a slightly off-white HUGE, fluffy head. Lots of CO2 and...boy did I mention it's highly carbonated? :)

S: Knäckebröd (swedish hard bread), toffee, chocolate and coffee beans. Very nice spicy aroma, like noble hops (saaz comes to mind..don't know if it's brewed with saaz, but I've brewed with saaz before and it definitely has that spicy, almost herb like aroma). I get a slight smokiness, like a veeery faint Schlenkerla-thing in the nose. Very pleasant.

T: Roasty and malty. Very well-balanced IMHO. I'm a huge fan of dark, malty lagers so this is right up my alley! Dark syrup and molasses followed by a gentle noble hop finish. Yum yum

M & D: Light and mild, yet creamy and satisfying. It's very smooth on the palate, not as over-the-top crisp as other lagers might be. The CO2 level is very high. When I opened the bottle it made the biggest pop sound I've heard since I overcarbonated one of my homebrews. Still, the CO2 doesn't ruin the beer, in fact it might just add to the, overall superb, mouthfeel.

Great beer! And on top of that - brewed not very far from here. Heja Sverige!

A: Dark brown with a rather small off-white head that settles into a fine ring of lacings.

S: The smell is quite mild with a gently smoky and caramel-like maltiness to the fore. Notes of charred wood, chocolate and just a hint of smoked ham. A dash of floral hops raps it up. I like the smoky aromas, but all in all, the smell isn't very impressive.

T: The taste is actually quite boring as it is basically a milder replicate of the smell. Malts dominate with notes of dark bread, charred wood, caramel and a hint of toffee. Slightly roasty. The smoky aromas are very muted and not as prominent as in the smell. Some decent floral hop notes. Flavors are rather sweet. The finish is short and bland - a gentle bitterness mixes with some notes of malts and leafy hops.

M: Moderate body, medium carbonation.

D: There's nothing in this beer that makes it interesting. The combination of smoke and chocolate in the smell is promising, but the taste don't live up to such a promise. There's nothing wrong with it I guess, it's just boring.

A: This Swedish Schwarzbier pours black (off course), with a medium sized light brown head that dissipates pretty fast with a sizziling sound.

S: Heavy roasted malt with some sweetness and faint smoke. There is also some chocolate and faint floral hops.

T: Sweet roaste malt (not as heavy roast as I supposed from the smell) with a "perfumed smokyness" - a bit funky. Nice floral hops and a faint hint of smoked ham.

M: The aftertaste is sweet and somewhat bitter. The body is medium and the carbonation is heavy.

D: I kind of like Schwarzbier, but I had better ones than this. Not a bad beer, but not a great one.

The beer is black. A cream colored foamy head, no lacing.

The smell is typical for heavy roasted malt, burnt bread, coffee, some anise and dried fruit.

Initially sweet, raisins and dried dates, sour apples, some sherry, dark chocolate, nuts and cherry seeds.

Medium low carbonation, soft with small bubbles.

Really god, and really much beer for the relatively low ABV.

Pours black with brown tings at the edges, with a tanned thick head.

Smell is lightly roasted, and lightly smoky, with rish dark chocolate notes with a hint of noble hops, really pleasant.

Taste is richer than expected, with alot of chocolate, a hint of burnt wood and some coffee beans, disticnt taste of noble hops as well. A little watery aftertaste, but still expected from the ABV.

Mouthfeel is a little bit thin and watery, but still fitting the style, could maybe have had a little bit more carbonation.

I usually dont enjoy swarzbier very much, but this is really nice.

A: Black, creamy head wich dissolves quickly.

S: Roasted malt, raisins and some other dried fruits.

T: Roasted malt with coffee and some chocolate notes. Dried fruits and the typical mouth feel of schwarzbier. Aftertaste is fresh and some bitterness is also there.

O: Nice, one of the better Octoberfest beers from Sweden.

A: Pours dark, pretty thin and transparent, light coffee like liquid with a medium low head that settles down like an oily layer on the surface.

S: Smells of ashes, slightly chocolatey with dry hints of lime and after a while some tones of soy.

T: Still with tones of ashes, some smoke and a bit oily and coarse. A bit like sparkling water and small, small hints of peppermint. There is also a small tone of lemon in the aftertaste.

In my opinion, the carbonation takes the overhand and because of this you lose some of the mouthfeel. It's a bit bland but still drinkable.

The colour is black; the finger thick head is pale brown. It sinks quickly, leaving no lacing.

The smell got roasted notes of malt with a touch of smoke. Some sweetness and hints of rye bread and sweet almonds. Overall clean flavours.

The taste is malty with lots of semi-sweet roasted notes. Some fresh clean bitterness. Medium body. Notes of rye bread (pumpernickel, but also French loaf) in the aftertaste, roasted nuts, and a dry bitterness that finish with some hoppy, fruity and roasted flavours and a touch of alcohol.

The carbonation is a bit stronger than the average lager; the fresh bubbles are strong and medium sized. The liquid is dry and mid-smooth.

I'm partial to a good Schwarzbier, and this one is as good as many of the German/Czech ones.
