The smell is spicy (liquorice, cloves, cinnamon, allspice...). Powerful sweet notes. Some lightly roasted malt. Hints of boiled vegetables and coffee/cocoa. Some chemicals far away in the background.

The colour is very dark brown with a hint of red (40 EBC), the liquid is clear. The two finger airy head is pale brown. Some lacing occurs when it quickly sinks down.

The taste is first quite bitter and fresh. Then, the sweetness and spices builds a more complex flavour: Cloves, salty hints of liquorice, some bitter oranges and nutmeg. The clean bitterness is there, but it stays in the background. Medium body. Some wheat-like sourness in the aftertaste, as well as a touch of alcohol and dry spicy flavours with some bitterness. The spices linger for a long time.

The carbonation is medium strong; the bubbles small and fresh. The liquid is a bit smooth.

During the last Christmases, it seems like the spiced beers gain in popularity. I am not too happy about it, since they tend to be too spicy and straggly. This one was quite ok, but I personally think it would have gained on even milder spices.

A: This beer pours dark brown with an enormous thick creamy light brown head, that slowly dissipates into nice lacings.

S: Some sweet malt, some spices. Dark dried fruits. Vanilla and liqourice.

T: The spices hits my mouth instantly; vanilla and christmasy spices. Chocolate and faint notes of strong coffee. Sweetness from the malt in combination with dark dried fruits, mainly cherries is great.

M: Aftertaste holds a nice bitterness during the long time it stays. Body is medium as well as the carbonation.

D: A very nice beer, but if you're not into the x-mas-wibe when it comes to spices - this is probably not for you. I'm gonna drink a lot of this one on Christmas together with the fat salty food, Swedish-style Christmas food.

The beer is clear, brown or very deep amber, a large tan head with small even bubbles that settles slowly and leaves good lacing.

The smell is partly sour licorice, some Christmastime spices and sweet dried fruits.

The taste is initially sweet and then quickly rather strong spicy, clove, anisette, and bitter cocoa beans.

Medium carbonation, small rather lively bubbles, medium body and a coarse dry finish.

A bit uneven, the spiciness is a notch too much, maybe some storing would round it off.
