Appearance
My sample is a light copper with little to no froth cap. Although well carbonated there aren’t many bubbles visible to the naked eye.
Smell
Begins with strong alcohol presence, the rest is a well written story starring dark fruits like raisins and grapes, berry tartness plus the sweetness of honey. There’s a multifaceted palette of hops on display here.
Taste
Smooth dulce honey flavor, naturally a strong alcohol manifestation due to the high ABV,has the complexity of high end liquor. Plenty of raisins and other sun dried fruits too. Eventually a brandy/cognac flavor sets in when the liquid warms up.
Mouthfeel
Well balanced and incredibly smooth medium body. Spot on bubble size and amount.
In conclusion
Boom!!! The flavors literally exploded! Such an intensity is seldomly experienced in the game of beers. Mattias has does an excellent job crafting this IIPA and I’m already looking forward to what he might whip up for next year’s festival. Double black IPA?

A clear amber beer with an off-white rather small head, little lacing but good curtains.
Smelling of toffee, pine and grape. A sweet heavy smell.
The taste starts sweet, brown bread, caramel, then grape-fruit marmalade, some pine resin.
Light carbonation, soft, sticky and oily, a dense body and a slightly dry finish.
This was very sweet, almost a candy beer, but had a well-balanced and rich hop palette as well. The high ABV was for me well covered.
