The yellowish head is very high and airy. Good retention and fine lacing. The cloudy liquid is deep orange-yellow (20 EBC).
The smell is fruity (apples, apricots) with fine bitter flavours including some lemons. Spices: Mustard? It is quite well balanced and rather sweet.
The taste is drier than the smell. The lemon-like bitter flavours is defiantly more hopped and bitter than the classic German ones. Some candy-like fruit flavours, like fruit jelly. The tart notes are mild and well integrated. The aftertaste got some sweetness after all, more fruit-flavoured candy and a very mild alcohol note. Red jam and spices in the finish.
The carbonation is medium strong, the few bubbles are fresh. The liquid is somewhat smooth and a bit dry.
A pleasant beer, although not as refreshing as the Bavarian originals. I had expected some more hops.

A: Pours hazy orange with a large uneven fluffy, almost soapy white head. Decent lacings.
S: Yeast and spices are overpowered by both floral and bitter hops; oranges, flowers and red ripe apples. Ripe bananas from the sweet wheat is kind of mild.
T: Malty, bready but more wheaty - overripened bananas, very sweet. But again the rich hoppyness is strong; oranges and apples. Rich flowers. Better balanced compared to the smell.
M: Rather long bitter aftertaste together with a banana-sweetness. Body is mild to medium, while carbonation is milder than most in this style. Smooth.
O: Nice one. Possibly not true to the style, but then maybe this could be the first in a new style...
