The colour is deep, deep dark brown (100 EBC), the liquid is clear. The finger thick head is warm brown and compact. Good retention and some lacing.
The smell is roasted, sweet and creamy. Sweet black coffee and some nuts. Sharp bitter notes, some lemon-lime and chocolate. Notable alcohol.
The taste is bitter and roasted. Creamy notes of lactose and cocoa. Some dried fruits and dark chocolate. The sweetness grows, making the bitterness smoother than I think it was supposed to be. Some red berries and chocolate-flavoured toffee. Medium body. The aftertaste got fruity bitter flavours, some black currants and growing alcohol. The finish is sweet with roasted malt and alcohol.
The carbonation is light to medium, the small bubbles smooth. The liquid is a bit sticky and somewhat dry.
Yet another “black IPA” that tastes like an well-hopped American strong stout. Not a bad beer, but I don’t get the point.

A dark dark brown brew, a tan high head with good lacing
Dark fruits, red berries, coffee and dark chocolate. Some roasted grains and smoke.
Black rye bread, bramble marmalade, dried figs, coffee and soy sauce.
Low carbonation, sticky, big body and a coarse dry finish.
A very dark and rather harsh brew, not for the faint hearted.

A: Pours a dark brown liquid into the glass. Next to no head forms, but from what I can see it is tanned. Not much lacings.
S: It smells of dark roasted malts, raisins, plums, leather, dark chocolate and vanilla. The hops are floral and the alcohol can be found when taking a deep sniff in the glass.
T: The taste is dominated by grinded coffee, dark roasted malts, leather, chocolate and some warming alchohol. The alcohol is nicely hidden. I can also find some red fruits and bitter almonds. The aftertaste is bitter with lots of really dark chocolate.
M: Medium to full bodied with low carbonation. It is a bit oily in the texture and the alchohol warms a bit. Smooth.
O: It really lives up to the hype. This is an excellent beer! I think this will be an instant classic from Sigtuna Brygghus. It's really, really tasty. A must try.
