Chocolate aroma, a round very dark chocolate colour with lace and a ring of a head. Medium mouthfeel, drinkable sweet but for coffee roast and very tart finish. Above average carbonation. Bittersweet aftertaste. One of their better ones. Cask it! Have this at the end of the evning meal or by itself.

This review is from notes taken in State College. I look forward to more from Abbey Wright Brewery and especially more of this beer. It was extremely tasty and reminiscent of a St. Peter's Old-Style Porter (one of my favorite beer). Abbey Wright Bittersweet Porter has a dominant roasty character in the smell and taste and a balancing hop element, giving it both bitter and sweet. It is a very smooth and easy drinking porter made by some great people I was honored to meet. Congratulations Abbey Wright! Keep up the good work.
Hope this is helpful.
Cheers!
