Dark brown colour with lace, on tap at the brewery. Sour taste out of sweetness, stickiness, sour rather than much smokiness. Almost as if a sour pickel was thrown in the mash. Light mouthfeel. Like a dunkel beer more than a scotch. Understated carbonation.

A: The ale is a deep brown color, not quite opaque with a small head.
S: The ale as a low-key smoky aroma that blends into a biscuity malt scent.
T: The smokiness is good here, providing a tinge of bitterness to an otherwise malty beer. The malts have caramel and biscuit qualities.
M: The smokiness is good and well worth a pint.
D: Reasonably drinkable and a decent beer.
