On tap at Abbey Wright on 3/22/08.
A - Hazy light amber/orange body with short, bubbly white head that fully diminished but left some decent sticky lacing around the glass. Moderate carbonation.
S - Predominantly citrus hop aroma with a dominating grapefruit presence. Some sweet caramel malt also present, but this one is all about the grapefruit.
T - Again, juicy grapefruit and citrus hop flavor with some sweet balancing malts reminiscent of caramel and toasted grains. Slight burnt flavor in the finish.
M - Light to medium body with watery texture and just a slight bit of oily residue. Pretty aggressive bitter finish that lingers for quite a while. Moderate carbonation. A little thin overall.
D - This was better than I was expecting. Big grapefruit aroma and flavor akin to a West Coast IPA. Perhaps just a bit more of a malt backbone would do this brew justice. Also, at 67 IBUs, this one drinks more like an IPA.
