A beer of two halves.
Pours well, with a decent head. Dark red chestnut, cloudy. Pleasant Toffee / Honey / treacle aromas quickly fade. Nicely bitter to start with.
Half way thought drinking the schooner, there is zero lacing/head, and it takes on the appearance in the glass of Blackcurrant juice. Sadly, it also takes on the taste and aroma of it as well. Not nice. A friend suggested that it might also have seen some liquid malt extract.
Not Schwartz's best.

Tasted at the brewpub as a part of $15 "Tasting Crate".
Not normally my preferred style, and this beer doesn't change my opinion.
Attractive red chestnut colour, but a very restrained nose, which I can barely make out some blackcurrent notes.
Flavour is bready & biscuity... lightly bitter, and touch cloying on the back palate.
Quite drinkable, though, but not my favourite.
