Got this as a 2 oz. sample before dinner at the Market Cross Pub. Kinda sweet for a DIPA but nice balance of hops & malt. Next time I'm here I'll get a whole pint and review in more detail.

Beautiful cask conditioned Imperial pint enjoyed at Market Cross Pub - Carlisle, PA
A - Gorgeous frothy-creamy head, golden yellow color
S - Very nice subtle aromas of flowers and citrus; subdued but very nice
T - Flavors of citrus and malt; mild and very well balanced, definitely more english in style, as are most of their brews
M - Smooth and creamy cask mouthfeel - perfect!
O - A very wonderful IPA! I highly recommend this on Cask. I've had it several times and am a big fan of it and of Market Cross in general. If you are in Carlisle give them a try! Great food and beer!

A - Deep orange, no lacing, minimal head.
S - Not much, a bit of caramel and that is it.
T - Malt forward, followed by a sharp bitterness. Hoppy bitter, but not hop-flavorful.
M - high carbonation but reasonably smooth still.
D - Relatively high DB.
Solid beer and at the price point (3.50? a pint) it is very good. That being said I think this is probably closer to the English IPA style than AIPA. Nice beer, great price, and the atmosphere of the pub is also quite enjoyable.

On tap at the brewpub served in an imperial sized nonic glass.
Appears with no head, nothing, no bubbles at all even collected on the glass. However once swirled about a finger's worth of yellow stained cream appears and rapidly depletes to nothing but a thin layer atop the brew. The color of this beer is a hazed orange.
The aroma includes some citrus and floral notes that are quite sweet smelling. As it warms it smells a bit minty and somewhat like oranges and other more mellow fruit.
The taste is caramelized sugars and a malty sweetness that gets countered by herbal hops. It has a very low key bitterness level that tastes citrusy. The presence of the alcohol warms the back of the throat but is not very evident in the flavor of this brew.
This is a medium bodied brew with a very light level of carbonation. It is a little sweet for an ipa but it isnt so bad. Easily drinkable but if you were really in need of a hop fix, this certainly would not get the job done.

A pint glass served on-tap. First off though, a DIPA? Really? An English IPA seems far more appropriate but that's just me.
A: The ale is a golden amber color, dark orange in the dim light of the pub. A finger of head coats the top of the glass and laces in strata, as though the ale was hand-pulled.
S: The nose is hoppy, citrus of coruse, with a firm malt base and a sickly sweet ringwood aroma. I haven't had that buttery sweetness in a long time but it comes through pretty clearly here.
T: The hops are firm, citrusy but not a stand-out. As in the nose, grainy cereal hops are present but restrained by the ringwood yeast. That ringwood sweetness (or sweetness that damn well approximates ringwood) overtakes most of the body and leaves its imprint on the finish.
M: The mouthfeel has a bit of hops, citrusy but subtle, that quickly yield to the yeast strain's strength. An alright ale that I wanted more out of.
D: It strikes me as English, so yes it is drinkable. The higher alcohol strength is practically nonexistent but that semi-sweet yeasty presence is tough to take in excess.

On tap at Market Cross in Carlisle, PA on 9/20/08.
A - Golden amber body with a slight haze and one-finger off-white head that was quick to recede into a thin ring with patchy lacing.
S - Fruity aroma with some citrus and perfumy hops as well as sweet caramel malt. Orchard fruit reminiscent of apple, peach, nectarine and apricot.
T - A sweet caramel malt base segues into a fruity flavor with an apricot or nectarine sweetness and some citrus rind. Finishes with a fairly aggressive hop character and some grainy malt.
M - Medium body with an oily texture that's a little slick, albeit somewhat watery. Soft to medium carbonation. Lingering bitterness on the palate that builds up strength into the finish.
D - Solid IPA from this little brewpub that was better than I was anticipating. This one has a fresh, fruity flavor with a nicely balanced malt/hop ratio.

After blowing a tire on the turnpike, I limped down to Hanover street for some tasties.
The beer poured a pale golden color, clear, light carbonation with a thing lacey head. Nice earthy bouquet, with hearty hops hops, a touch of pine and a very faint roasted grain scent.
The beer hits with a full mouth flavor, but the hops are well in check and balanced. Nice crisp hop finish.
This beer is bodied a bit light for the style, but has great mouthfeel and is quite drinkable.

Taste is of the mentioned aromas with caramel grain, citrus, and freshly cut grass.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, citrusy, and caramel sweet.
