On cask at the brewpub served in an imperial nonic.
This brew appears a dark brown color with some pretty decent clarity when held to the light and some ruby highlights. More than a finger of creamy light tan head sits on top of the brew and displays wonderful retension. Patches of lace cling to the glass.
The aroma is lightly grainy with a bit of mineral character. Some notes of chocolate and citrus hops are noted in the background. Overall the nose of this brew is very light.
The taste is dark and grainy with the previously mentioned mineral character blended with citrus hops. Some increasing character of chocolate malt lingers in the mouth with some taste of alcohol and a warmth that increases in the back of the throat.
This is a light bodied brew with a light level of carbonation. Quite drinkable and a fine example of the style but nothing fantastic. More lingering dark grains with notes of coffee stay in the mouth as the brew warms.

I had this beer on a recent visit with Fish113d.
Poured into a 10 oz glass fairly cold. The beer is a deep chocolate brown color with a creamy tan surface layer upon arrival. Aroma is of chocolate and roasted malt and some herbal hops in the background. First sip reveals an average body and soft gentle carbonation. Flavor is malty with chocolate and roast malt with hints of general sweetness on the swallow. The finish also allows for the herbal hops to come through again. Overall the brew is mild english style porter and is very easy drinker. Would be a good session brew I think.

A Imperial pint served at the brewpub in Carlisle, PA.
A: The porter has a dark baking chocolate color, looking like cola with less carbonation. A finger's worth of rich head insulates the beer, slowly receding as it is consumed.
S: The nose has light malty chocolate notes, dark roasted bread with a big hop aroma that is par for American porters.
T: A sip reveals chocolate and caramel malts, lots of grain that creates a full bodied flavor. Toasted bread, with its darker tastes, adds a flourish of flavor mid sip. Hops add little beyond bittering the dark malts. An easy drink.
M: The dark grains make for an enjoyable taste, bready with chocolate and caramel notes. A good session porter.
D: If not for my desire to try the impy stout, I'd have gladly taken another pint of this brew.
