Served in 12oz goblet. Poured a clean, clear dark red color with just a thin cap of tab head that had low retention and lace.
On the nose, I thought I smelled chocolate. The expected dark fruit, scents weren't readily apparent, although there was a nice grain base. Yup, I'm tasting chocolate in this beer, that is certainly atypical for the style. The fruits showed up, albeit lightly, and there was just enough yeast for a bit of contrast.
The body was good, although perhaps a bit on the thin side of average for the style. Drinkability was good, I'll certainly be having a couple more of these. Overall, a nice brew, worth trying if you see it.
