A: Poured a deep orangish/amber color with good carbnonation

S: Sweetness, Earth and some smoke

T: The barrel influence is sordove mute. I could not help but ask, where is the oak. I did get the peat and barrel influence to a degree but it seemed more of than Earthiness than anything. Some buttery notes were there

M: Pretty thin for a beer of this size, not bad, lower carbonated it seemed, poretyt slick, sweet, butter

D: Good

On tap at the Uber.

The beer pours a brownish amber color with good head retention and lacing. On the nose, this beer is just outrageous. I get a huge aroma of sweet malt, butterscotch and peat/smoke. The flavor profile replicates the nose pretty closely, though you can tell this beer has seen some SERIOUS barrel aging. There are notes of sherry and vanilla interwoven with the peaty flavor profile. Mouthfeel is surprisingly light for the abv., with the beer otherwise showing a soft, creamy mouthfeel. As for drinkability, it's really hard to gauge. The alcohol is pretty well disguised, though of course you can tell it's up there. Also, while intriguing, the amout of peat/smoke one gets in this beer is a bit much. Nevertheless, this is a very impressive beer, and one I felt fortunate to sample at the Uber.
