22oz. brown bomber poured into a snifter.

A: Deep amber. decent head and retention. No lacing.

S: More of the funky sweaty gym sock from their other beer that I tried. That's it.

T/M: Funky. Almost like brett. Sour fruits. Some toasted malts, sweet, but overpowered by the sourness. Body is medium light with decent carbonation.

D: zero.

This beer was served to me with a smart, buff head. But when I turned my attentions for just a moment to watch a sadly beautiful woman fend off a drunk – an endeavor she skillfully accomplished in no more than a bar-time minute – the head on my beer was reduced to a thin velvet veneer. Oh well. Not the first time I lost my head over a woman at the bar.

For some time I questioned whether the tap lines at the Siletz Roadhouse were crossed. This is a mellow, malty brew with a soft mouthfeel and a diminutive bittering compliment. It is clear and the color of warm oak, not “a dark bronze ale with a well balanced bitterness” as the menu intones. A slight blush of crimson suggests Siletz’s Redhead Ale, which boasts a “malty sweetness.”

I have since come to accept that the lines were not crossed, but the menu descriptives flawed. So, accepting the beer at face value, Arrowhead Amber is well crafted and “of a sweet savour unto the Lord”. It features artistic lace, a soothing caramel fragrance, and is nicely composed and delivered.

Another NW ale for hopheads! It's brewed with Chinook, Cascade, Colombus and Amarillo hops.

This is another deep ruby ale from Siletz, complete with a tight head. It has quite a dry-hopped aroma, too. It has a smooth mouthfeel with quite the hoppy aftertaste. A very good beer.
