Ok tasted fresh at the Siletz roadhouse in Siletz ( of course!!). From the tap it poured a nice dark amber/brown, with a gorgeous creamy tan head. Auite deliciously hoppy aroma..but some nice slightly roasted malts. Very smooth even creamy for an amber. I've read some of the reviews be quite negative about this one..but I have to say fresh from the tap..it was a great amber.

HUGE head -- it took three pours to get it all in the nonick. The head was off-brown, with the beer a hazy amber-orange. The aroma was hoppy and dry. The mouthfeel was thick, smooth, and fuzzy from the carbonation. It had one of those interesting tastes that challenges my ability to describe -- good, yet a somewhat bitter unpleasantness. The whole experience seemed a bit overwhelmed by the carbonation. Still, oddly, I enjoyed it overall, but I'm not sure I'd like to drink a bunch back to back.

A real head maker this beer? Been fermenting I guess? The color a nice deep amber, the head obscene in size, the texture frothy, the color a winsome light beige, the lace a thick covering sheet. The nose is hop flora at the front, and sweet malt in the middle, a fresh crisp and clean nose, with the start quite sweet and loaded with malt, top middling. Finish has a big hop spicy bite, moderate on the carbonation side, very dry and bitter aftertaste, and a quite quaffable brew.

12 oz brown stubby bottle with no freshness date.
Appearance: Explosive foaming when poured into the glass, yeah the head retention was great due to the fact that it was all head. Obvious amber hue with a light hazing.
Smell: Yeast, yeast and more yeast. Ghost like buttery aroma with a vague fruitiness.
Taste & Mouthfeel: Kick in the teeth with the yeast, bone dry toasted grain and a withering hop. Slight malt sweetness tries to round out the brew but the yeast takes another bite and with the hops in the mix it is lights out for the malt. Finishes with a lasting unpleasant yeast bite.
Drinkability & Notes: No signs of old age or spoilage, the conditioning has brought the over carbonation and overkill yeast character to the table. Sadly this may have been a good brew if the yeast was controlled properly. After it warmed up to cellar temp it was still undrinkable, tasted like homebrew fermented with a dried yeast culture.

Musty nose. Unfiltered almost brown in color with a light beige head. The head does stand up and is lasting with a persistant lace. The brew is very hoppt 9bitter) upon tasting and then it mellows out into a sweet malt base. The tongue is left dry with a slightly bitter finish. The mouth is quite full. I like the hop presence in this brew alot and there is enough malt sweetness to keep good balence. A nice red...
Cheers to mattmaples for the sample.
