Poured a very nice bright orange, sparkling in the sun light in BRBP's outside seating; no head and very little lacing, though. Nice deep malty scent, with great sweet malts and a nice caramel aroma in the nose. Excellent flavor, with great caramel tones to a nice thick and sweet maltiness; slight hints of apple in it. Went down very smooth, extremely crisp and clean.

Poured from a 1/2 gallon growler into a pint glass. Appearance is a deep amber hued brown, semi-translucent with a light brown foamy cap that settled to a light ring of lacing. Aroma is sweet and roasty, big maltiness up front, toasted bread, caramel and toffee notes round out the nose. Taste is light despite the hearty aromas, sweet malt opening to a roasty body, finish is sweet and dry, leaving a light malty aftertaste. Mouthfeel is smooth, lighter bodied for the style, lower levels of carbonation, goes down smooth. Drinkability is excellent, abv at brewpub was listed around 5%, nice easy-drinking Oktoberfest, sweet/dry finish paired with the great malty body makes for a solid session beer, would buy again.

A - Deep copper color, no head to speak of, but that may have just been my glass, as my companions' O-Fests had head.

S - Bready, yeasty, malty smell. Very pleasant. Hops are there, but are not center stage.

T - Malty, sweet, with just a hint of hop bitterness.

M - Medium bodied, nice level of carbonation, clean.

D - Very, very drinkable. I really enjoyed this, and would drink it all fall long.

Stopped in for dinner for my wife's Birthday. Tried this on tap with my Stuffed Sirloin and Jalapenos, then took a growler of it home.

Appearance: Amber, to dark amber, crystal-clear with an initial bit of off-white head that reduced to a ring. Not much lacing.

Smell: scents of malts and cookie-type bread, with hops noticeable.

Taste: great malt sweetness and balanced hop profile. Really good, I get the feeling this is a real lager, not an Oktober-Ale that many places bring out. Really nice.

Mouthfeel & Drinkability: Great feel, if just a tad low carb from the growler fill. Not all that thin in the mouth, just right. Great Drinkability, and real fresh.

Overall: I have had many Oktoberfests this year (one of my fav styles) from Sam Adams, Hacker, Spaten, etc. and this is great. I have to try them side-side-side to see what differences I get, but so far my favorite of the season!!! Great Job, BRBP!

The pour is deep amber with a thin halo of white foam. Aroma is bread, caramel, malt and more bread. Flavor is breadlike, with some caramel and a slightly nutty aftertaste. Just a touch of hop bitterness in the finish. Medium body with light carbonation. A decent Oktober offering.
