Draft at Broad Ripple.
Pours a clear dark brown color with an average fizzy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted malt and earthy aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration.
Soft drinkable beer.

More of a scarlet ruby than a brown although without any light it does look brown? White fluffy head dissapears quickly with little lace.
Slight hazlenut almond, with roasted malt aromas.
Nutty flavors. Not very well balanced, a semi metallic taste, and thin watery mouthfeel.

From a sampler: This ale is a very dark brown color with a medium thick beige head. Thin and solid lacing. The aroma is mildly malty with some brown sugar and caramel. Full-bodied for a Brown Ale, with a surprisingly smooth mixture of malt, caramel, nuts and toffee. The finish is smooth as well making this a pretty good session ale.
