Pours a nice deep brown/near black color with some nice initial (non-lasting) head. Scent is nearly covered up by the oak chips the beer aged on; some nice malt, but nothing else really stoutish comes through besides a very, very slight hint of coffee. Taste has a lot of oak barrel, a bit of roastiness, and just the slightest hint of coffee; for such a high ABV beer, it has a rather thin body. Goes down alright, but perhaps a bit to oaky; hints of alcohol; creamy but not as deep as it could be.
