On draft at brewery, 02/11/08.

Dark brown with deep ruby highlights. Small foamy head.

Coffee aroma.

Flavor is roasted coffee with chocolate bitterness. A little lingering bitterness and then from out of nowhere, a clean finish.

A one note flavor, but they picked a decent note.

This beer poured a blackish color with some red light showing through, actually a good looking beer. It smelled very strongly of coffee and nothing else. There was an interesting balance between the coffee, the chocolate, and the bitterness. That balance was something like 75% coffee and 25% chocolate. The chocolate came out more in the aftertaste. This beer was fairly bitter for a porter, which was interesting. The mouthfeel was that of medium/heavy body with some carbonation. Its drinkable if you like coffee (I don't).
