On draft at brewery, 02/11/08.
Clear yellow pour with lots of carbonation. The head was a thin foam skin wihtin seconds.
No detectable aroma, but it was in a taster glass.
Subtle sweet maltiness up front, a little grapefruit hoppiness at the end.
Unexceptional in every way.

First off, "Pales" is not a typo, thats how it was written on the menu and I didn't think to ask anyone about that before I left.
This beer poured a nice dark gold color that was clear. It produced no lacing but some moderate foam. It smelled moderately hoppy and that masked the malt smell almost entirely. The menu said that it was supposed to smell grassy/hoppy, which is pretty acurate.
The taste was a bit more balanced between the malt and hops but not by much. Tasted sweet, like there was some unfermented sugars in there, that or possibly a splash of crystal malt somewhere. The brewer mentioned that he thought that Sierra Nevada's Pale Ale wasn't hoppy enough. While I strongly disagree (I think that beer is wonderful the way it is), it does shed some light on the why the hop/malt balance in this beer is shifted so far to one side. Quite dry on the aftertaste.
Medium bodied and drinkable.
