Thanks to mcallister for sharing this with me. Very dark brown, nearly black in color. Thin off-white head disappears very quickly. Faintly smoky in the nose, with a great amount of spices, cinnamon seeming to be the dominant one. A whiff of chocolate as well. Kind of like a chocolate covered spice cookie. Smoked. Slightly. Some pumpkin flavor, and bitterness associated with it. A bit of chocolate, but not a whole lot else. Very thin, and watery. Not much character as well. The base of this beer just does not seem to support the pumpkin and spices. Lower carbonation. Kind of disappointing.

Well it looks like a porter. Dark brown, ruby highlights. Small tan head doesn't want to stay late for the shows.
Spicey with a mint undertone that is somewhat odd. No signs of a porter in the aroma. Light pumpkin aromas and the ever so slight hint of smoke. Chocolate and maybe a hint of all spice.
Pumpkin shows through in the mouth more. A roasted, smokey component is also in the mouth. Light hints of milk chocolate, nutmeg and some other spices. Still a minty aspect that seems to plague this beer for me. A fuller more robust porter could have really made this beer much better. Perfect the base before throwing in the other goodies.
This beer is very weak, thin and watery. Very dissapointed especially after the rave reviews people were talking after the Michigan winter brewers guild festival.
