Poured from tap into 14 oz snifter. I know that BA frowns on often giving all 5s but this brew is definitely worth it, in my opinion anyway. FYI the pub listed the abv as being 10.75 as opposed to 8.5.
Appearance - Pored a deep amber that was almost burgundy with an abundant head and very little if any carbonation.
Smell - The hoppiness brought to mind a bouquet of flowers. This is definitely a hop-lovers dream, they were present long before tasting.
Taste - Wow! The IBUs here have to be well over 50! This was for all intents and purposes a wine, it was meant to be savored as the bouquet of hops danced on the palate and brought to mind citrus fruit before an extremely satisfying finish.
Mouthfeel - The high alcohol content brings a satisfying warmth to the mouth which reminds you to savor the beer for the treat that it is.
Drinkability - The beer's only downfall. It is so bitter you cannot taste anything after it. Though one of these is all you may need for a night of drinking,

12oz bottle. Batch 100. Thanks John for sending this one my way!
Poured a medium and hazy amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of citrus, floral hops, toasty, and some caramel. Tastes of citrus, lighter caramel, floral hops, earthy, and lightly fruity. Lighter body with the alcohol content hidden. Some lacing left on the glass.
