Pretty decent place if you're in the area. Stopped by the other day for the first time in a long time. Decent sized place. Looks like a lot of brew pubs these days (although this one has been around longer than most in the area), lots of dark wood and darkly painted walls. Old pressed-tin style ceiling. Decent variety on tap, pours come in 16 or 20oz sizes. Crowlers, growlers, and six packs of their standards. Some $25 750 ml bottles of sours. Food is decent, prices are what you'd expect in Ann Arbor. Not a place I'd make a destination, but good enough if you're on that side of town.

Went on a recent visit to Ann Arbor, went for a late night snack with my grown children. We were excited that the menu included pierogi, which is hard to come across in Texas. The Korean barbecue flavored wings were also a hit. I had a Belgian style tripel that was pretty good. The service was great and we enjoyed the visit. Would go back next time in AA.

Nice selection of house drafts and bottles, also have some guest taps. Service was.......bad. Empty glasses sat as I wished for another beer, food order was not put in by our waitress (she did apologized for this). Food finally arrived, warm at best. All in all not impressed by beer, food, or service. I am by far a patient person but if this place was in my hometown it would be a one and done experience.

My wife and I stopped here to see the results of their remodeling and to experience this brewery for the purposes of this review. We've been here many times before but have never written a review. This was also the first stop of an afternoon pub crawl. We had lunch and a sampler flight of 6 beers knowing that we couldn't have any more than that with three more pubs to visit.

All of the beers that we chose are also available in bottles on store shelves, so we were disappointed that there were no pub-only options. However, we had not previously had one of the beers, the pilsner, so we made it a point to choose it. We have always liked Arbor's beers, and today was no exception. All were what we remembered them being, and the pilsner was one of the best that we've had at a craft brewery. Aside from the 6-packs of their regular beers that are in a cooler for carry-out sales, there were also several specialty beers available in 750 ml. bottles, and we chose to purchase the sour version of their 20th anniversary barleywine. We're looking forward to popping that cork.

The food has always been very good here, and our lunch selections were no different. The menu has changed a bit since our last visit several years ago (a more healthy, organic theme), and the new choices are what we focused on for our lunch.

We go back a ways with our appreciation for this pub, and today's visit further cemented our desire to continue to support this brewery.

This was a quick stop drank 2 pints. One a very meh sour and a nice chili porter. Service was self service to the bar. The bar tender was a bit slow. The selection was what was expected with a couple positive bumps. The food I did not try. We used to have an option for N/A. So I will give them the benefit of the doubt and say food is at least average and edible.

Cool place - a small enough draft list where you can get a flight of all available drafts. Two beers on hand pump at all times is big bonus, great menu and old-fashioned table top shuffleboard.

Atmosphere: great normal brewpub atmosphere plus outdoor seating and free dartboards and shuffleboard. My go to place in Ann Arbor.

Quality: their beers vary between very good and bad but a majority has been good am enjoyable.

Service: I tend to find myself staring at open tables from the waiting list and sometimes they are a bit slow but I have never had any serious problems with the staff.

Selection: usually around 10 home brews on tap plus a few bottles. Additionally they have a page of good brews that usually has a theme from style to where they are from.

Food: they don't have anything that is super special or unique but everything they make is pretty good.

Overall: definitely a must go in Ann Arbor. Their beer list is always changing and has a wide variety. Food is good and the place is just flat out fun. Plus they have the best beer happy hour in Ann Arbor

A forgettable experience... there was no atmosphere even though it was a nice Saturday night.

Their beer wasn't good but it wasn't horrible. The food was average and luckily so were the prices.

We won't be back here especially knowing there are world class pubs right around the corner.

Easily accessible, Bar is first thing you see when walking in. A nice seating area to the right. On the weekend the other room to the left is a great option to share some drinks with a group. Its been a few years since I have visited. They make quality beer and have always enjoyed my stay.

Prime location, right downtown Ann Arbor. The building is cool, lots of dark wood and brick. Service was pretty good, we sat at the bar and the the bartender was very polite and helpful. This is not the place to watch sports though, they had like a 20" TV behind the bar.

Food was decent, beer was good and the selection was good, the serve a couple of Cask Condition beers so that was a plus. Their beer makes it worth a visit but it's not the best pub/brewery in AA.Overall I'd visit again but its nothing fancy. It would make a good starting point for a AA pub crawl or tour.

When I visited: March 2012.

What I had: Sacred Cow IPA (cask), Tree Town Brown Ale (draught), New Holland Dragon’s Milk (bottle), Andouille & Salmon Étouffée, pinot grigio and pasta entree for the lady.

What I liked: Cool vibrant atmosphere in this busy college hangout, booths provide some privacy, fast no frills service, several seating options, solid food, decent prices.

What I disliked: House beers left much to be desired and bottle selection was smaller than I expected. Nice to find Dragon’s Milk though.

Would I go back? Possibly.

Arbor Brewing company is a staple of the Main Street downtown Ann Arbor area. I tend to go there less than other places in town, as the food isn’t quite as good as elsewhere (like Jolly Pumpkin and Grizzly Peak). The beer selection is excellent, though I would love to see more rotating taps. One beer I have not seen them bring back--and wish they would--was a specialty beer called Tree Town Brown. It was a dark brown IPA and one of the best beers I have had in town. Overall, you should definitely stop by when in Ann Arbor, even for just one beer on your way to other brewpubs around.

I visited Ann Arbor once in the past and my only memory of it was a brew pub I visited. I wasn't sure what it was called, but when I stepped in here this evening, I realized that this was the place I visited. Funny how Arbor Brewing Company was my only fun memory of this nice college town. Probably because I was here for work that last time around! During this visit, I was fortunate enough to try a Michael Faricy's Stout and Scared Cow Cask Conditioned IPA. Good stuff!

What can I say about this place, other than its a micro brew fan's dream. They have a nice selection of micro brewed beers, everything from IPA's to stouts available. Arbor even has beer tasting sessions that give you the opportunity to try different types of beers at a cheap price. The celebration happens the second Thursday of every month. This month (i missed it by one week) is Micro madness, next up on September 8th is "Made in Michigan" and I should come back on November 10th for "Belgian" night. Besides that, there are kegs for sale, rows of taps and beer, exposed brick as soon as you walk in and a friendly staff. The location couldn't be better, as it's right in the middle of the city off of Main St.

Try the fish tacos, they're really good. The rest of the menu looked appetizing, but didn't really pair up with the large selection of beers. I would have liked to have seen a more eclectic blend of foods for the various beer styles they offer.

Overall, great place and located in a great college town. Please visit if you're in the area, it well worth it.

First stop of a Ann Arbor drinking run, and it would be my first place to return to if I got the chance. Tried eight samples and then got a draft of the sour brown Brasserie Greff. All were strong brews and the place at the bar was pleasant. Brewery in the back of the bar surrounded by the restaurant. Didn't have a chance to look at the food menu, but plenty of others were there having a meal. Service was attentive and positive--bartenders seemed to be real fans of the place, and were very knowledgeable.

This was our second to last stop on my Microbrewery tour and when my father and I went in there to get a sampler and some food the place was pretty large. They had a giant back room off the left of the bar.

The women behind the bar was very knowledgeable and explained a bit about the brewery to my father and I. I ordered the beer sampler as well as one of the soups that they had that day. The sampler was the largest one that I have had on the trip. Had at least 7 to 8 beers. Each was very good non of them disappointed me which is very good.

The soup was extremely good which when so good with the sampler that I had ordered. I also got a final pint and for the first time ever I ordered one of the beers that had a hand pump which I have never seen before which was really interesting to learn about.

Overall I really enjoyed the brewery! Cheers!

Nothing fancy about this brewery, but a nice casual place to have a good beer and good food. They try and source locally for the food menu which is your typical pub fare. The feel is your typical college bar. They have a decent variety of draft and 2 cask options. Check out the menu for several sour beers available only in bottles. The sour beers are above average. Average beer with above food quality. You have three other breweries within two blacks, so this place fits in nicely for a brew pub crawl.

Stop #215 on my brewery tour of the world.

Completed a brewpub tour of Ann Arbor the first week of June 2011 with a couple of my beer-snob-drinking friends. Easily shakes out to…

1. Jolly Pumpkin & Arbor Brewing tied and depending on unique vs. traditional beers
2. Blue Tractor BBQ & Brewery
3. Grizzly Peak Brewing Company (very distant third)

Stop #2 on our tour was Arbor Brewing and if you like your beers straight and down the fairway, this is the place to go. We shared a five beer sampler (I think they were pretty big pours) of...

Cask IPA
Festival Saison - a bit too cloudy to enjoy
Mai Bock - outstanding - fruity and clean
Olde number 22 German Alt - acused of being too porter but well done with the unique alt yeast flavor

Having an uber rare Alt on tap and a Mai Bock that I though were both done very well was a treat and I give Arbor props for that.

We had a pierogi appetizer and played some suffleboard (the bar kind) on a table that could use some work.

Wound up doubling down on the IPA's as they had JUST RUN OUT OF THE MAI BOCK!!!!

Getting the attention of the bartenders was a bit frustrating especially since the place wasn't that crowded.

In Ann Arbor, which has always been a weird mix of pretentious and hippie to me and no that is not because I am an MSU grad.
Parking is not the easiest either, but I found a meter right in front. I was just in for a growler fill so that was just fine. I really enjoy their alt beer, which, I would call a roast alt, not the standard for the style at all. Nice woody interior, English pub-esque. Lots of tables for dining, mid sized bar. Service was fast and friendly. Maybe 10 things on tap, including 2 hand pumps. Mostly their standard offerings, but the casks were not. An IPA and a porter. Porter was quite good, just not what I was looking for for a growler.

Food looked like kind of upscale pub fare, but I didn't eat.
A good place to check out if you can tolerate Ann Arbor, which can be somewhat crowded. Stop by when school is out.

One of the many excellent beer destinations in downtown Ann Arbor. This place is just 2 blocks from Jolly Pumpkin and even closer to 2 other brewpubs. Hard to decide where to go when in town, so many excellent choices.

Arbor Brewing is a long time establishment in the area, maybe 15 years to date. I like this location much more than Corner Brewing, it just seems more urban. Large central bar, also tables for well over 100 people, more than plenty of space. There were 2 cask offerings, an IPA and a porter, both were excellent. Also a tap list of Arbor beers spanning many styles, mostly solid stuff.

The food was very good, relatively low prices and decent servings. Mostly standard pub fare, hamburgers and such.

Of all the times I've been done to Ann Arbor to hit a Jolly Pumpkin limited release or just hang out in the city I have never been to Arbor Brewing. So recently when I came down to pick up some bottles of Bambic at JP I decided to finally check this place out.

Perhaps this is a product of being at Jolly Pumpkin for an hour or so beforehand but the atmosphere left a bit to be desired. The place was busy but the crowd is pretty laid back which is often the case in Ann Arbor. It was around 9 PM when we rolled in and the lights were dimmed down which is generally something I appreciate but they just took it too far. The only time I could get a good look at my food and drink was when the blinding lights from cars coming out of the parking garage across the street seemed to hit directly on our table. Put some blinds on the windows and bring the lights up a bit from night club level and we'd be in business.

I'm keeping my quality rating solely focused on the beer and not the food. I had a pint of their Terminator doppelbock and my girlfriend had Sacred Cow IPA on cask. Terminator is a solid beer but it doesn't quite stack up to it's German counterparts. I wish I ordered the Sacred Cow. I have had it in the bottle before and thought it was solid IPA but on cask it really shines.

The real low point was the service. Our server wasn't outwardly rude in the way she spoke to us but her mannerisms were chock full of bad attitude. The beers were plunked down on the table like a glass of Sasparilla in an old western movie. I asked for an extra set of silverware and it was tossed on to the table. I don't know who jammed the stick up her ass that day but in the service industry you have to be able to put that behind you with your new customers.

Definitely a solid beer selection. I don't remember the exact number of taps but I can tell you they were running two casks and reviews seem to support this as an everyday practice which is much appreciated. In addition they have some special bottled offerings that were all sours of various types.

The food, like the whole experience, was a mixed bag. I split their asiago chicken pasta with my girlfriend. While the pasta was cooked well and the sauce was excellent the chicken they topped it with was very dry. My buddy ordered their IPA marinated chicken sandwich and cut me off a bite. Same story different chapter, the chicken was as dry as the Sahara. We should have ate at Jolly Pumpkin.

I might be back to ABC but if I do return I'll be sitting at the bar and sticking to the beer.

Visited here on a Saturday afternoon. This place is located in the heart of downtown Ann Arbor. It was fairly bustling with plenty of regulars and a few out-of-towners as well. They had ~8 beers on tap, including 2 casks which were very tasty. The food is pretty good although there is not too much to choose from on the menu (I had the chicken sandwich). It was a nice place to enjoy a pint or two and I'd definitely go back! They also sell special sour beers/barrel aged beers at the pub (somewhat $$ but that speaks more to the style of the beer).

I went here during a trip to Ann Arbor last week. The place was empty and quiet for lunch. The bar itself seemed simple enough, with a casual feel but nothing too special. Windows to their brewery allowed me to watch the brewers at work while I ate and enjoyed their beers.

The food was excellent. A little pricey, but the ingredients seemed to be mostly local and all natural. The burger I had tasted pretty high quality. The service was great with the waitress attentive and happy to talk about their beers.

For a $1.50 a pull you can get a 4oz glass of each of their beers, so I tried them all. I love their Olde #22 alt, one of the best alts I've had. Other highlights were their Milestone Cask Porter and Huxell Best Bitter.

Arbor Brewing was the first stop for my wife and myself on a brief tour of Ann Arbor brewpubs.

Sunday morning right after opening time, but already a bunch of tables occupied and some folks perched at the bar drinking. Nice airy place, comfortable. Would come often if I lived around.

Service was good and food was too. My wife got their signature burger and it was amazing, super juicy and well cooked. I regretted going healthy with an OK spinach salad. Who eats salad with beer???

We tried only two beers- the flagship Sacred Cow IPA (on cask) and the Super Snapper VSB, which is a bitter on steroids. Both were very good, and I had never tried a "VSB". The cask was, however, a little too cold. Tasted almost like a regular draft.

But we liked it enough to get a growler. Too bad they didn't seal it properly and when we opened it at home the beer was incredibly flat.

Aside from this, we really enjoyed Arbor Brewing and would definitely come back. It was our favorite of three we visited in town.

I went to the ABC after Mighigan's beatdown of uconn. I figured I'd get a growler refill. The place was busy, as would be expected after a game. I went to the back bar and had an ipa and an Irish stout. The front bar is copper, while the back bar is wood. I liked being surrounded by UM fans celebrating a victory.

There were no exceptional beers on tap, but it was a decent selection. I like the cask conditioned ipa served at 58 degrees. The bartender was very busy, so I did not have much of a chance to chat other than to place my order. It is a quality establishment that I have gone to on a couple of occasions. It is definitely worth a stop.

I had a nine beer sampler and dinner here. Atmosphere is nothing special at all, typical bar, pretty big. Service wasn't anything special, dude seemed high as can be and new nothing about beer. Had very little suggestions and those he did were not good. The food was really good, good specials and overall really good...The quality of the beer was pretty poor, we had only their beers about ten of them and only a couple were decent. The selection was ok, about 15 beers but nothing great.

A middle of the road brew pub, stop by if your bored but not worth going to or going to Ann Arbor on its own.
