Deep brown with a thin, tight tan head. Light roasty aroma. Deep roasted malt flavor with very light sweet finish. Roasted malt flavor linger with a slightly medicinal tinge. Thick for a porter with a biting tacky mouthfeel.
Rather bland flavor and aside from finishing somewhat like a porter, the feel is much more stout-like. If it’s really 7.1% abv, it’s well hidden. As a porter it’s passable, as a “special winter porter” it falls very flat.
