A full bodied, polished, suprisingly refreshing dark ale with a wealth of taste sensations roused by roasted malts with hints of chocolate and espresso flavours.

Musty and buttery. Long roasted grainy taste with a touch of walnut. Light bodied. Sudsy and tangy on the tongue before the butterscotch sets in. Mellow with a caramel flavor. Slightly scratchy nutshells finish.
Not a trace of hops. Very drinkable, a pleasant gulp when you'd like a walk on the less bitter side. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Whidbey Beer Works in Oak Harbor, Washington.

Very nice version of a style that not as many breweries are making anymore.
