16oz glass at Beer Revolution YEG Oliver.
This beer appears a glassy, medium golden yellow colour, with one flabby finger of puffy, loosely foamy, and frothy eggshell white head, which leaves a bit of splattered soap scum lace around the glass as it quickly abates.
It smells of grainy, crackery pale malt, earthy yeast, hints of apple and pear fruitiness, and a plain leafy, weedy hop bitterness. The taste is semi-sweet, grainy pale malt, subtle yeast, muddled pome and citrus fruit notes, mild perfume esters, and soft leafy, weedy, and earthy hops.
The carbonation is light and fluffy in its well-rounded peppiness, the body medium-light in weight, and generally smooth, with a teensy airy creaminess slowly evolving as things move along. It finishes off-dry, the fruity, malty notes sustaining this affair nicely.
I wasn't expecting much with this one, but I am pleasantly surprised - it's simple, rendered well enough, and easy as sin to drink, especially on a finally hot to the touch Friday afternoon, here in the Great Now Washed North.
